A partire da fine marzo Newton Faulkner, già in tour nel Regno Unito con il nuovo e quinto album “Human Love” pubblicato a novembre per BMG Rights Management con distribuzione Self, si appresta ad affrontare una nuova, incredibile ed entusiasmante sfida. Il cantautore britannico interpreterà il ruolo di “Johnny” (uno dei tre protagonisti) nel tour UK del musical “American Idiot”. Diretto da Racky Plews, vincitore di due Tony Awards (gli oscar di Broadway) e del tanto ambito Grammy come “Best Musical Show Album” nel 2010, il musical narra la storia di tre ragazzi, legati da una forte amicizia, alla ricerca di significato esistenziale in un mondo post 11 settembre.
Newton Faulkner: “My first ever band was essentially a Green Day cover band, with one of the guys currently in the show, Lucas Rush, so it's amazingly strange to be reunited under these circumstances. I can't wait. The first record I ever bought was Dookie, so yea, I was a massive Green Day fan, still am.”

NUOVO SINGOLO/VIDEO “UP UP AND AWAY”
Newton Faulkner, dreadlock rossi e chitarra alla mano, già #1 nelle classifiche inglesi, si prepara a conquistare tutta l’Euopa con un tour in primavera a supporto del nuovo e quinto album, “Human Love” pubblicato anche nel nostro paese da BMG Rights Management con distribuzione Self. Il cantautore britannico arriverà anche in Italia per un’unica data, venerdì 11 marzo a Milano, ai Magazzini Generali.
Dal suo debutto al numero 1 della classifica inglese con l’album “Hand Built By Robots” del 2007, contenente la hit single “Dream Catch Me” (oltre 5milioni e mezzo di views), Newton Faulkner ha pubblicato altri album, tutti capaci di stabilirsi nella top 10 UK. Tra questi nel 2012 il disco “Write In On Your Skin” è riuscito ad arrivare nuovamente al numero uno.

Newton Faulkner è noto per l’amore che ha per le cover realizzate con personalità ed originalità, tanto che a lanciarlo era stata una acclamatissima versione di “Teardrop” dei Massive Attack. Ma ora, come dimostra anche il video di “Get Free” in cui si vede Newton che si accorcia e taglia i suoi famosi e caratteristici dreadlocks rossi, si apre un nuovo capitolo della sua carriera che sembra prendere un nuovo inizio proprio da “Human Love”. Human Love è mixato da Cenzo Townshend (The Maccabees, Jungle and George Ezra) e nei credits del disco compaiono personaggi di altissimo livello come in “Step In The Right Direction” prodotta da Cam Blackwood (George Ezra, London Grammar, Florence and the Machine), “Far To Fall” scritta con Ed Drewett (One Direction, The Wanted, Olly Murs) e “Shadow Boxing” prodotta dal duo australiano Empire Of The Sun.
