è un nome che chiunque sia cresciuto con la musica degli anni ‘80 conosce bene:
nata artisticamente come parte del celebre duo Yazoo, autori di pezzi iconici del pop elettronico come “Don’t Go”,
ha poi proseguito la propria carriera da solista ottenendo risultati
sfavillanti: una lunga serie di dischi
di platino e di tour da tutto esaurito l’ha consacrata fra i pionieri della
musica pop elettronica britannica e mondiale. L’elettronica è presente anche
nel suo ultimo album, “Other”,
pubblicato nel 2017 e accolto con entusiasmo dalla critica, a cui ha fatto
seguito un tour che l’ha portata a esibirsi in storiche location come il
Paradiso di Amsterdam, il Fillmore di San Francisco, l’Enmore Theatre di Sydney
e il Palladium di Londra per ben due serate. Ad Aprile e Maggio Alison Moyet tornerà a esibirsi come special guest
per undici date del tour UK dei Tears For Fears.
L’album “The
Other Live Collection” è stato registrato interamente dal vivo durante il
tour 2017 e comprende brani che ripercorrono l’intera carriera di Alison Moyet,
come le indiscusse hit “Only You” e “All Cried Out”, e canzoni tratte da
“Other”, fra cui “Wishing You Were Here”. “Ski” e “The Man in the Wings”.

Alison Moyet si è imposta al pubblico negli anni ‘80
come parte del duo di pionieri dell’elettronica Yazoo (insieme a Vince Clarke,
ex Depeche Mode), che durante la loro breve ma significativa carriera
produssero due storici album, prima di sciogliersi all’apice del successo. In
seguito, Alison firmò con Columbia e intraprese una straordinaria carriera da
solista, che la portò a realizzare diversi album vincitori di dischi di platino
ed esibirsi in tour da tutto esaurito. Ha inoltre ha recitato a teatro, nel
musical Chicago e nella pièce
teatrale Smaller (per cui è stata co-autrice della colonna sonora) con Dawn
French, si è esibita al Live Aid, ha pubblicato il DVD live “One Blue Voice”, è
